• Book reviews: Due to time restraints, these will MOSTLY happen in my stories this year (saved in a highlight) and will look like mini reviews.

However, they will still include all of the usual content warnings and honest thoughts. Helping you make informed choices for your family is important to me.

• Book Lists: I enjoy creating topical book lists! I am hoping to create at least one new list each month. I have many available in my website for you to check out!

• Homeschool: I understand it's nice when an account has a niche. But for us, books and homeschool go hand-in-hand. You can't have one without the other. 😉 I enjoy sharing the books we use for studying various topics (especially history).

• Read Along: Each month I am planning on choosing a book that we can read and chat about together!

✨ My hope is that everything I share points to Christ. The reviews I write, the thoughts I share, and the books I choose are all filtered through a Biblical lens.

I am still learning how to balance time and this app, but I hope you will stick around to chat about books! It's my favorite thing to do! 💗😉

It's always fun to ask my boys what books they have enjoyed most! Today for #livingbooklegacy we are sharing our kid's favorites - my boys each chose two book series to share!

🎇 Both boys agreed that the Mansoul Chronicles from @lithoskids is their overall favorite book from last year!

🎇 My Five-year-old's other favorites:

• The World According to Humphrey series by Betty G. Birney

• Little Pilgrim's Big Journey series (but he especially enjoyed part three)

🎇 My eight-year-old's other favorites:

• Mice of the Herringbone series and Mice of the Westing Wind series by Tim Davis

• His favorite independent reads were the Billy and Blaze series by C.W. Anderson.

🎇 My One-year-old's favorites include any books right now, but her favorites based on how often she brings them to me, would be:

• Usborne Zoo Sounds

• Fergus Barnaby Goes on Vacation by David Barrow

First of all, can we please appreciate these beautiful illustrations!! 👏🏽😍 You all know I'm a softy for illustrations - if only adult books still had them! 😜

Dear Duck is an adorable story that includes themes of friendship, loyalty, and selflessness. All my kids enjoyed the story and it is one we will read over and over again! 💗

I'm always on the lookout for adventure stories, especially because I have boys! ☺️ And this book definitely did not disappoint!!

Not only is it full of mystery and adventure, just look at those illustrations! This book is a treasure and one we will enjoy over and over again! 💕

This is the first book in a series and we cannot wait to read the rest of them! 👏🏽

✨ Book Review ✨

The Queen's Cook by Tessa Afshar

💬 My Thoughts:

I have read a lot of Biblical fiction throughout my lifetime so to say that The Queen's Cook has launched itself into my top three books in this genre (and my top ten books in all genres), is so much fun! 🫶🏽 I loved every single thing about this story!

The cast of characters is spectacular! I found myself laughing out loud at the head cook's witty remarks and smiling often due to an Immortal's loyalty. Everyone fit perfectly into the story and I enjoyed each one!

If you enjoy watching cooking shows (like I do), this storyline is for you! It's filled with delicious food, kitchen drama, and particular judges. 😉

Let's chat about the romance in the story. Lately I've seen authors gravitate, in the wide-range that is called"Christian" fiction, towards writing and promoting lust-filled relationships, which saddens me.

Tessa has brought us a beautiful story that focuses on how important it is to belong to God and allow Him to be our everything. The main character's growth and journey to finding this belonging is the focus of this story, not the romance.

The romance comes second, and let me just say that it is the sweetest. 💕

Overall, I literally finished this book and immediately wanted to begin reading it again. I am so thrilled that this is going to be a trilogy! I cannot wait to read the rest of the stories! 🫶🏽
